The Hidden C° was written in summer 2018 while visiting the beautiful island Hiddensee at the Baltic Sea. There, I had this idea of playing around with a chord progression over a C major 7 and a C diminished (C°). The change of these two chords was so full of tension and emotion that I fell completely in love with it.

I loved the idea of building the title and the lyrics around the feeling of that diminished chord. Diminished chords long for opening, longs for relief, longs for being set free – so it it obviously a HIDDEN C°.

The mood of the island inspired the lyrics a lot: A water creature, waiting on the bottom of the sea, for being released and to come up to the surface...
